From Job Corps Ambassador to CLEAR Ambassador: Michael Williams’ Journey to Success
If you visited the Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center in the past two years, chances are you met Michael P. Williams, Jr. As one of the center’s most dedicated Student Ambassadors, Michael was a familiar face, leading tours for visitors, prospective students, and new enrollees each week. His kind and friendly demeanor, paired with what we like to call that “Job Corps charm,” made him a natural leader on campus.
Michael, born and raised in Maplewood and Roseville, MN, graduated from Roseville Area High School during the COVID-19 era. Seeking direction and opportunity, he enrolled at Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps, where he successfully completed the Painting Trade program before advancing to TCU/IAM Transportation Training. His training in Freight Railroad, Mass Transit, and Airline Service Work provided him with diverse career pathways, and in the end, Michael found his calling in the airline industry.
Following his TCU program completion on 2/23/2024, Michael secured a position with CLEAR at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). Just as he once welcomed new students and visitors to Job Corps, he now greets travelers in the airport lobby, helping streamline their journey with TSA PreCheck services through CLEAR.
Michael began his career with CLEAR in January 2025 as a CLEAR Ambassador, earning $22.00 per hour. His dedication, enthusiasm, and people skills have already made a positive impact, and we have no doubt that his career will continue to flourish.
We are incredibly proud of Michael and excited to see where his training and his natural ability to connect with people take him next. Congratulations, Michael!
