Strengthening Ties with Union Pacific at Bailey Yard
An exciting event occurred at Bailey Yard in North Platte, Nebraska, where three individuals received royal treatment during their tour of the world's largest classification railroad yard. The group consisted of Excelsior Springs Job Corps students Marcelles Killebrew and Vincent Figuero and TCU/IAM Lead instructor Lane Shelton.
During the group's tour, they were fortunate to meet former student Bethany Holcombe. Bethany, who had previously attended the Job Corps program, was now an accomplished employee at Union Pacific. She demonstrated how to use a wheel truing machine, an essential tool in keeping the trains running smoothly. Marcelles and Vincent were impressed with Bethany's knowledge and skill in operating the machine. Lane Shelton was proud to see one of his former students excelling in her career. Bethany's demonstration was informative and inspiring for the Job Corps students.
The group's experience at Bailey Yard was truly unforgettable, and they left with a greater appreciation for the importance of the railroad industry and the opportunities it offers. They also left with a newfound respect for the hardworking individuals, like Bethany, who keep the trains running on time. #BaileyYard #UnionPacific #JobCorps #TCUIAM #NorthPlatte #RailroadIndustry #CareersBeginHere #TrainhardTCU
