William Walker, Lasting Careers that Change Lives

Before transferring to the St. Louis Job Corps Center for Advanced Training to become a Railcar Mechanic, William completed the Bricklaying trade at the Kittrell Job Corps Center. He was initially placed with Watco Mechanical Services in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Will soon moved on to accept a position as a Mechanic with Talgo, which is currently overhauling coaches for Metrolink in Southern California. He says he likes the hours and the pay! William enjoyed his training with TCU/IAM, ”Especially with a great teacher like Mr. Mollet! He teaches more than working on the railroad; he teaches you important life lessons that I still use to this day.” Mr. Walker says it was essential to have a part-time job while attending advanced training in order to save money to get his life and career started. He encouraged other students to starve their distractions and feed their focus.
